Katog Choling's 18th Annual Shedra will be an at-home study and practice retreat with Khentrul Rinpoche live via webcast.

The Stages of Meditation on the Prajnaparamita, composed by Patrul Rinpoche, is a wisdom teaching on the meditation sequence of the Abhisamayaalamkaara - Ornament of Realization - one of the prajnaparamita scriptures in the five treatises of Maitreya.

This guide to the stages of meditation explains the meaning of ground - the empty nature of mind, how to practice the path in gradual stages through unifying great compassion and profound wisdom, and the way in which the fruition is attained.

The teaching will take place over four consecutive weekends, with two sessions on each day, and will include meditation practice on the gradual stages.
Pre-Requisites for Attending

In order to receive the complete transmission of this profound wisdom teaching, full attendance is mandatory for all days and sessions.

Set up a clean and inviting space in your home with a comfortable meditation seat to do the practice live with Rinpoche at the set times. Ideally, you have a personal shrine and make daily offerings on the retreat days. For those of you who do not have a formal shrine set up, the live video streams will take place from the shrine in the main temple at Katog Rithrod, and daily offerings will be made and present as a support for all.
You will need the following texts for the retreat.
  1. The Stages of Meditating on Prajnaparamita. This text along with additional downloadable formats can also be found online here.

  2. The Prayers Before Teachings and Aspirations and Dedication booklet. This can be purchased on our website here.

There may be additional prayers. If so, they will be provided via email before the event.
