Getting To
- We are located in a very rural area, and therefore there are inherent risks in being here, similar to the risks associated with camping. Please be careful and contact us if you have any concerns.
- There is very rarely cell phone service along Hwy 7 and on the retreat land, so Jasper is the last stop to make a call to the Sangha House to let folks know you’ll be arriving soon.
- Just before the Sangha House, there is one low water bridge to cross the Little Buffalo River that may flood during heavy rainstorms. If it has been raining hard for a long time when you arrive in Jasper, please call the Sangha House so that someone can let you know if the bridge is passable.
- Sangha House phone: 870-446-2952.
- It is possible to travel to Harrison, Clarksville, Russellville, or Little Rock, AR by public bus (Greyhound or Jefferson Bus Lines). These towns are close to routes that many use to drive to KR, so it may be possible to arrange a ride if you arrive at one of those locations by bus. If you have trouble with the bus line website, try a different browser, such as Google Chrome or Firefox.
- When Katog Rit’hröd is hosting larger retreats – like Shedra – one can arrange and offer drives to and from the Retreat Center via our Katog Rit’hröd Travel Board.
If Google Maps directs you through Castle Bluff, please “add destination” Parthenon in between.
The Castle Bluff route is not recommended for those unfamiliar with the terrain.
- Southern Airways Express operates out of Boone County Airport. There are at least three rental car agencies in Harrison with Hertz operating out of the airport.
