Save The Dates!!
May 9-16, 2026, Katog Choling Gön Retreat Center is hosting its second annual drupchod (sadhana offering practice) using Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo’s terma, a revealed dharma treasure, called Tara who Liberates All Fears. This year’s dates include doing Tara practice on Mother’s Day as well as on Dakini Day (the 25th of the lunar calendar). The final day will also include a fire puja, a special fire offering practice called jin-srek for dispelling obstacles and magnetizing all that is positive and auspicious.
The purpose of practicing this Tara sadhana in a drupchod is to accomplish both the supreme and common spiritual attainments. Supreme spiritual attainments are swift growth of personal inner realization. Common spiritual attainments are accomplishing the peaceful activity of pacifying fear and suffering. Because Tara is renowned as the deity for most swiftly accomplishing the enlightened activities of all buddhas, Tara sadhana practice is profoundly impactful.
Wars are spreading, natural disasters are intensifying, human conflict is escalating, and diseases are on the rise. Moreover, our minds are increasingly anxious, fearful, and afflicted. Now, more than ever, is the time to engage in the profound sadhana practices of Tara.
During the course of the retreat, we will do group practice on this text interspersed with teachings with Khentrul Rinpoche. He will also provide any other necessary transmissions. This is an in-person-only retreat, beginning at 4pm on May 9th and ending at 12 noon on May 16th.
Please join us for this rare and powerful Tara drupchod guided by Khentrul Rinpoche. Together, we will engage in profound practice to cultivate inner peace, dispel fear, and benefit all beings in these challenging times.
