Tree Planting at Katog Ri’throd

Sangha members planted 20 tree saplings at Katog Ri’throd in the far meadow south of the parking area, including Pecan, Chinkapin, Shumard Oak, Red Mulberry,  Wild Plum, Bald Cypress, Persimmon,  Red Bud, Dogwood, and Black Gum. The Chinkapin may live up to 250 years, the Shumard Oak 200 to 400 years, and the Pecan 300 years or more.

The saplings were provided by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture reforestation program. The trees will provide a supportive environment for millions of sentient beings and contribute to the clean, fresh air of this sacred land.
